Program Information

The program commemorates the 75th anniversary of the day when American and Soviet troops met on the Elbe River during World War II. This event is crucial to the world’s history as the joint efforts of the allied countries significantly contributed to the rapid resolution of the international conflict. The participants are invited to convey the idea of a strong alliance between the United States and the USSR (Russia) and gain more knowledge on the shared history of the two countries and the role both sides played in restoring peace.

The program will result in a printed graphic novel on World War II, which will be created jointly by Russian and American students based on the results of the exchange trips to Washington, D.C., and Moscow.
